Inspired by the rich heritage of the building’s former life as a historic department store. Our vast bar is located on the ground floor, with views onto bustling Broad Street and an adjacent fireside snug. Serving up signature ‘sips and scavenger bites’, alongside afternoon tea, it’s open daily from 10am.
With unparalleled views over the iconic spires of Oxford, our rooftop bar and terrace is open year-round. Home to our Bertha, charcoal grill, and smoker, the rooftop menu is served up alongside signature Terrace Original Cocktails.

Cocooned in walnut panelled walls, our luxurious spa is located on the lower ground floor, and offers four treatment rooms, a steam room, sauna, relaxation area and gym; alongside treatments from world-renowned British brand, Oskia.
Oskia take a results-driven approach to treatments, combining bespoke anti-ageing techniques, drawing both on traditional knowledge and modern advancements, to leave the skin, body and mind rejuvenated and glowing.
Boswells was one of the world’s oldest family-owned department stores and a much-loved part of the local community.
It first traded in 1738 and was initially founded by Francis Boswell at 50 Cornmarket Street. In the tradition of great British department stores, it became a place of discovery – a treasure trove of toys, cosmetics, fashion, household essentials, a haberdashery, well-known tearoom and café.
Now, reimagined as a luxury hotel with a restaurant, bars, spa and a labyrinth of spaces to discover and explore, The Store carries forward this legacy of innovation and is here to capture the hearts and imagination of future generations.
Situated in the historic site of Boswells department store, the entrance to The Store is on Broad Street, located in the centre of Oxford, near the Northern Gateway to the city.
